Anup Kumar Shahi has completed his B.Sc. from MMM PG College Bhatpar Rani (Gorakhpur University). He received his Master degree (M.Sc.) from IIT Bombay in Applied Geophysics in the year 2013. He secured All India Rank-23 in IIT-JAM 2011 in Geophysics and AIR-21 in ISM Dhanbad Entrance Exam for Physics. He did his M.Sc. dissertation, “Strata behavior due to the exploitation of hydrocarbon in the sedimentary basin “, under the supervision of Prof. T. N. Singh. During 2013-16 at IITB, He has worked on the various project related to Subsurface Geophysical Imaging and Soil Geomechanics like Crosshole Seismic, Electrical Resistivity Survey and Liquefaction Potential of Soil for organization like NPCIL, DRDO and MMRDA. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in IITB-Monash Research Academy under the guidance of Prof. Kumar Hemant Singh (IITB) Prof. T.N Singh (IITB) and Prof. Ranjith Pathegama (Monash University). His research topic is “Study of Gas hydrates using effective medium theory and rock physics modeling”. Apart from studies, he is interested in playing football.
