Bhukya Hussain completed his Bachelors degree from Kakatiya University and thereafter joined a two years M.Sc. program in the Department of Chemistry, IIT Bombay where he did his masters project in Computational Biology in the lab of Dr. Ruchi Anand which involved Structure Based Drug Designing. To get an exposure to the wet work he continued further in the same lab for one year as a project fellow with a partial economical support from IITB-Monash Research Academy. At present he is pursuing Ph.D. in Structural Biochemistry in an IITB-Monash collaborative project which deals with the “Investigation of Butyrolactone-like small molecules in regulation of Antibiotic Production in Streptomyces” under the supervision of Dr. Ruchi Anand, Dr. Milton Hearn and Dr. Reinhard Boysen.
