Madhurima completed her M Tech and B Tech in Ceramic Technology from the Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology (West Bengal University of Technology), Kolkata. After completing B Tech, she had worked in Aditya Birla Insulators, Kolkata, as graduate engineer; and after M Tech she had worked in CSIR – Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Kolkata, as Senior Project fellow and later (i.e. before joining the academy) in IIT Bombay as Project Research Associate. During these tenures, she gained considerable research experiences on aspects related to materials for electrochemical energy conversion/storage and electro-catalysis; which form her current research interests. She is presently pursuing her PhD on “Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon dioxide on transition metal oxide catalyst” under the joint supervision of Prof Arindam Sarkar (IIT Bombay) and Prof Jie Zhang (Monash University). She likes reading scientific journals, novels, listening to music and travelling.
