Prachi Varshney completed her B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from C.S.J.M University, Kanpur followed by M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT BHU, Varanasi. Her research work during M.Tech motivated her to pursue doctoral studies. She presented 2 papers “A Novel Filter Media for Biofiltration of VOCs” and “Role of Environmental Biotechnology in Air Pollution Control” in an international conference “Recent Trends in Engineering, Technology & Management” held at BIET Jhansi, 2011. She also published a review paper “Progress and trends in CO2 capture/separation technologies: A review” in Energy journal of the Science Direct. Prior to joining the Academy she worked as Programmer Analyst with Cognizant Technology Solutions for more than a year, which she joined through campus recruitment at IIT BHU. At Academy she is working on “Investigations on CO2 sequestration with algae under dry and hot ambient conditions” under the guidance of Prof. Pramod Wangikar (IIT Bombay), Prof John Beardall (Monash University) and Prof. Sankar Bhattacharyya (Monash University). Her hobbies include reading inspirational books, travelling and collecting coins.
