Rajesh Deka has completed his Bachelors degree with honours in chemistry in the year 2010 from B. Borooah College, Guwahati. Soon after that, he completed his MSc. degree from the University of Gauhati in 2012 with specialization in organic chemistry. During his MSc, he worked on a master project entitled ‘Synthesis and Characterization of Nicotinamide Based Amphiphiles’. While studying in the undergraduate and post graduate courses he got acquainted with the practical aspects of the subject and got motivated to pursue his PhD in chemistry. At the IITB-Monash Research Academy, he will pursue his research on the topic ‘Low-Coordinate Monomeric Lanthanoid Chalcogenolates’ under the guidance of Dr. H.B.Singh (IITB), Dr. Glen Deacon and Dr. David Turner (Monash Academy). His hobbies include playing cricket, listening to music.
