Sourav has completed Dual Degree (B. Tech. (H) and M. Tech.) in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He has undertaken short-term projects at National Institute of Virology (Pune), Institute of Genetic Engineering (Kolkata) and, Indian Biosciences Research Institute (Noida). Currently he is working on the project Aggregation of frog peptides: a model for amyloidogeniesis under the guidance of Prof. Ajay Singh Panwar (IIT Bombay) and Prof. Lisandra Martin (Monash University). The aim of the project is to tackle human diseases characterised by aggregation of peptides or proteins by identification of new targets for therapeutic intervention. Apart from academics, he is interested in science fiction and criminal mysteries. He is also passionate about numismatics and travelling.
