Suma Bhanu Battula
Suma graduated with Integrated Master of Science in Physics, from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2016. Her dissertation was upon modelling 732.0 nm and 844.6 nm atomic oxygen dayglow emissions. She worked as project student at National Atmospheric Research Laboratory, Gadanki to study atmospheric aerosols and cirrus clouds using dual polarized lidar observations and at Inter University Accelerator Centre, New- Delhi for measurement and damping of mechanical vibrations in an IUAC quarter wave resonator. At IITB Monash Academy her research deals with understanding association between orography and extreme rainfall. She is supervised by Dr. Arpita Mondal and Dr. Subimal Ghosh at IITB, Dr. Steven Siems at Monash University. She likes travelling, trekking, gardening, cooking and reading.
