Chaitanya V completed his B.E. in mechanical Engineering (marine) from Andhra University Faculty of Engineering and was awarded gold medal for his academic excellence. From there he went on to pursue his masters in mechanical systems design (mechanical Department) at IIT, Kharagpur. As a part of his masters he worked on dissertation entitled “Analysis of Truncated Dry contacts” which gives a novel method to understand singularities in contact analysis. After completing his M.Tech, he joined GE, Bangalore as a design engineer and worked for the various departments of gas turbine components. Teaching has been an important part of his experience all the while. He worked as an ad hoc faculty in various academic institutes like NIT Trichy. Currently, he joined IITB-Monash Research Academy to work on the project ‘Numerical Simulation of Selective Laser Melting’, under the guidance of Prof Ramesh Singh (IIT Bombay) and Prof Wenyi Yan (Monash University).
