Milind Patil completed his B.E. in Civil Engineering from University of Pune.He has obtained his M.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. Soon after that, he joined one of the top Geotechnical Finite Element Analysis software companies in the world as a Geotechnical Support Engineer. Over a period of time, he worked on numerical modelling techniques for solving geotechnical analysis problems and has been member of technical support team. During his M.Tech he worked on thesis entitled Piled-Raft Foundations: FE Modeling and Parametric Study and based on this work he has published paper in reputed national and international journal and conference. He is currently pursuing his PhD at IITB-Monash Academy under the guidance of Prof. Deepankar Choudhury and Prof. RanjithPathegama on the project.Tunnelling in soft soil under both static and seismic events. As a research point of view his areas of interest are Computational Geotechnics, Soil-Structure-Foundation interaction, Ground improvement techniques and applications. Throughout his education, he has been a keen participant in extra-curricular activities. Some of his notable achievements are meritorious performance award in Maharashtra Talent Search Examination for two consecutive years (2001-2002) from N. Wadia College, Pune, and Best cadet award in ARJUNA advance military training camp held in 2001. His hobbies include Traveling, cooking and badminton.
