Neeraja completed her B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum (affiliated to University of Kerala) in 2009 and M.Tech. with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in the year 2011. Her master’s thesis was on the ‘Upper bound limit analysis of unreinforced and reinforced soil beds’. She has worked in industry for about one year, thereafter joined IISc, Bangalore as a Research Assistant and worked there for about one year. At IISc, she worked on research projects on modelling of fiber reinforced soils, leading to two international journal publications based on the work. For the past 3.5 years, she has been working as an Assistant Professor at Marian Engineering College, Trivandrum. As part of advancing her academic career, she has joined the PhD program at IITB-Monash Research Academy. At the Academy, she would be working on the project titled ‘Hydro-Mechanical Behaviour of Geosynthetic Clay Liners in Landfill Capping Systems’ under the supervision of Prof. B.V.S. Viswanadham (IIT Bombay) and Prof. Abdelmalek Bouazza (Monash University).
