Shihab completed his B.E. in Civil Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Technological University at Bhopal. He graduated with honours in 2012. After securing 99 percentile in G.A.T.E. 2013, he pursued M.Tech. in Engineering Structures from N.I.T. Warangal. He graduated with honours and was awarded Erasmus Mundus Heritage scholarship for the year 2014-15 to Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France. As a part of his Master’s thesis, he developed a stochastic algorithm for E.G.I.S. Industries Paris, which simulated the transverse cracking phenomenon in Reinforced Concrete members, under the guidance of Prof Panagiotis Kotronis. He has been enrolled in the Academy for the project titled “Management of Corroded RC infrastructure using monitored data”, under the supervision of Prof Siddhardha Ghosh (IIT Bombay) and Prof Colin Caprani (Monash University). His research interests lie primarily in building more efficient and smart models that learn and incorporate uncertainties for structural management, analysis, design and degradation.
